Honoring the heritage of this historical home in west Sedona was a primary concern on this project. Originally designed and built by local architectural legend -the late Abe Miller- as a personal residence, this beautiful home takes inspiration from his time in Old Mexico.
Walnut slab is always a great choice- providing a quintessential mid-century modern look and with Crystal Cabinet’s new “Ultra Flat” finish, the beauty of the raw veneer is allowed to shine. Grain matching on the cabinet faces provide continuity and removes distraction. We combined natural walnut with a painted thin line shaker - a new classic. This style offers the timeless interest and texture of a shaker door but with a more modern look. Going with this door style in a painted inset cabinet offered some unique challenges but the outcome was worth it.
